8.1. General Organization of the Paper
The paper will be published in Oceania Jurnal Pendidikan, Sosial dan Humaniora after going through a peer-review process and being decided “Accepted” by the Editor. The final paper layout will be reproduced by the Editorial Office of Oceania Jurnal Pendidikan, Sosial dan Humaniora. The final paper layout in PDF type, known as “Uncorrected Proof” must be corrected by the Author. The final corrected proof will be published first in the pre-publication “Article In Press”.
Paper documents submitted to this journal (in MS Word) should be structured as follows:
Body Text of paper article
Image Captions and Table Captions
All illustrations in any form must be submitted as consecutively numbered figures, one per page. Although high-resolution figures are not required for the initial judging stage, if the essay is subsequently selected for publication then all figures and tables must be provided in the best possible quality in digital format. If symbols, arrows, numbers or letters are used to identify parts of the illustration, then these must be clearly identified by means of a key in the figure legend, not on the figure itself. Similarly, internal scaling, colouring or processing of the figure should be explained where necessary. Figure legends should be listed sequentially on separate pages. In all cases where the author is not the copyright holder of the figure, written permission must be obtained from the copyright holder to reproduce the figure in this journal.
Each table should be typed and numbered consecutively. They should have a short informative title placed as a heading. Tables should be understandable without reference to the text, but should refer to the text. Explanatory captions should be brief and placed below the table. Note that the numbering of tables should be different from the numbering of figures.
The length of the paper, both in Indonesian and English or Arabic, is a minimum of 6,000 words and a maximum of 8,000 words excluding abstract and references. The contents of the paper in general must be arranged in the following order: Title; Author Name; Author Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Method (for research-based articles); Content/Results and Discussion; Conclusion; and References.
8.2. Title of Paper
This is your chance to grab the reader's attention. Remember that the reader is a potential author who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Start with the subject of the paper. Do not include any rarely used abbreviations.
The title of the paper must be concise, specific, informative, and complete (maximum 15 words).
8.3. Author Name and Affiliation
Write the Author's name without any title and professional position such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate the last/family name. Always give your First and Last Name (Full Name). Write a clear affiliation of all authors. Affiliation includes: name of department/unit, (faculty), name of university, city, country, include the email address of the first author. Only five names can be listed as authors for each title.
8.4. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should stand alone, meaning no citations are included in the abstract. Think of it as an advertisement for your article. The abstract should tell potential readers what you did and highlight the main findings. Avoid technical jargon and uncommon abbreviations. Be precise, concise, clear and specific. Use words that reflect precise meanings. The abstract should be precise and honest, summarizing the main points of the paper. Please adhere to the word limit (200-250 words).
8.5. Introduction
In the Introduction, the Author should state the purpose of the work at the end of the introduction section. Before stating the purpose, the Author should provide adequate background, and a very brief literature survey to note the existing solutions/methods, to show which research is the best of the previous research, to point out the main limitations of the previous research, to show what can be done that you want to achieve (to overcome those limitations), and to show the scientific merit or novelty of the paper. Avoid detailed literature surveys or summaries of results. The introduction should clearly state the purpose of the paper. It should include key references to relevant works but should not be a historical or literature review.
8.6. Methods (for research-based articles)
The methods section explains the rationale for implementing specific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, and analyze the information used to understand the research problem, thereby enabling the reader to critically evaluate the validity and reliability of the overall study.
8.7. Content/Findings and Discussion
The body is the body of the paper, consisting of subheadings that represent the discussion of the paper. The findings should be clear and concise. The findings should summarize the (scientific) results rather than provide detailed data. The discussion should explore the significance of the work, rather than repeat it. A combined Findings and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussions of published literature.
In the discussion, this is the most important part of your paper. This is where you have the opportunity to sell your data. Make the discussion relevant to your results, but do not repeat the results. Often it should begin with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not the experimental results). The following components should be addressed in the discussion: How do your results relate to the initial question or purpose outlined in the Introduction (what)? Do you provide a scientific interpretation for each result or finding you present (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)?
8.8. Conclusion
The Conclusion should address the purpose of the study. Tell how your work advances the field based on current knowledge. Without a clear Conclusion, reviewers and readers will have difficulty assessing the work, and whether it is worth publishing in a journal. Do not repeat the Abstract, or simply list the results of an experiment. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work, and indicate its potential applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or indicate ongoing experiments.
8.9. References
To write citations and bibliographies in your article, please use reference software such as Mendeley, Zotero, etc. to make citation work easier. All notes must appear in the text as citations. This journal uses innote citations, NOT footnotes. Citations usually only require the author's last name, year of publication, and (sometimes) page number. For example: (Kamalkhani, 2021: 180-182); (Tracy, 2020); (Erzad & Suciati, 2018); (Sofyan et al., 2021); (Kamalkhani, 2021; Tracy, 2020).
